Native Bulbs

Status of Native Bulbs for 2018!

We are out of stock of native bulbs, except for the fascinating, beautiful, and useful  dainty and gorgeous blue to blue-purple Ithuriel's spear, Triteleia laxa.

Our native geophytes are too infrequently grown in our native plant gardens. A varied and beautiful group, they are of great importance to California's indigenous peoples. Each selection comes with a  description of how to grow them in the garden, as well as how to prepare them for eating, for those who are interested. They are an important component of our native grasslands and meadows and can be grown in your "mini-prairie."  They also do very well in large containers. Sow in masses for best effects.
